Open in 1690 by Monsieur François LAURENT, the Café Laurent was a high-end circle of literary and artistic Parisian life, where personalities in the humanities, philosophers and writers of the famous Encyclopedia enjoyed meeting around a new beverage: « Coffee Water ». Rousseau, Voltaire, Fontenelle, to mention but a few, were regulars here. For more than 40 years, le Café Laurent was the be-all end-all of Parisian night life. Today, the café intends to continue the musical tradition since three jazz concerts per week are planned, trios on Thursdays and quartets Fridays and Saturdays. Each Wednesday is dedicated to French song.
